Cancelled JUSTICE LEAGUE Movie Script Leaks
If you have some time for a casual read, then I may have just the thing for DC fans out there. And that's because the once planned, 2007 Justice League script has leaked online. Remember when there were rumors of that Justice League movie that would have starred DJ Cotrona as Superman, Armie Hammer as Batman, Megan Gale as Wonder Woman, Adam Brody as The Flash, and rapper Common as Green Lantern? Yeah, that almost happened, and now a script has leaked online that may give us even more reason as to why it never did.
Mad Max director, George Miller, was hired to direct the film back in the day, but the timing was all wrong. First, the budget was out of control at around $200 million dollars, and there were issues with their Australian tax incentives, and on top of all of that the infamous writers strike hit, which was the straw that broke the camels back. But to put that last nail in the coffin, Christopher Nolans "The Dark Knight" was released shortly after all of this happened, and well...that performance was just too hard for the JL team to follow.
The script was written by Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows scribe Kieran and Michele Mulroney, and was based on the comic book story arcs of JLA: Tower of Babel, Superman: Sacrifice, and Crisis on Infinite Earth.
The story centered around Batman using a Skynet type of satellite program to spy on the other heroes and when that system gets hacked by baddie Maxwell Lord, all of the superheroes end up turning on one another. And apparently its just really bad. But, to be fair, the superhero landscape has changed so much since 2007, and even a script that would have been decent 5 or so years ago would probably pale in comparison to Zack Snyder's Man of Steel or any of Marvels movies. So, keep that in mind as you read it, if you decide to read it. And if you do, you can check it out over on Superhero Movie News. So, are we all glad that this Justice League movie was never made? And who is going to read this leaked script!?
Let us know what youre thinking out there, and as always connect with us over on Facebook and Twitter as well. Im your host, Erin White, and Ill see you next time.
